How it all began
Alma Edizioni came to life in 1994, when Alessandro De Giuli and Ciro Massimo Naddeo, two Italian teachers who had run Italian classes in Tunisia shortly earlier, started to write short novels for foreign students. They wanted to create short stories that would be easy and pleasant to read. Most importantly, their goal was to to satisfy students striving to read easy and entertaining stories in a foreign language, even at a basic level. So, in 1994 the first three books of “Italiano facile” series were published: Dov'č Yukio?, Fantasmi e Mafia, amore e polizia.
